Baking up a legacy

Ever since I was a little girl I can remember enjoying a nice sweet treat. Some of my fondest memories are coming home from school to something fresh from the oven. Through the years my mother would invite me into the kitchen to experience the joys of baking myself, and when I became a mom this was something I longed to recreate with my own children. Life with three teenagers can be hectic but I know they always appreciate a surprise upon their arrival home.
As a multi-cultural family we have always enjoyed experiencing food from different countries. Whether it was a pastry from my husband's country of Portugal, or an American treat with a different twist, the sense of fusion was always present. Similarly, baking made up for the early years of our marriage when resources were slim. We simply didn’t have the flexibility financially to splurge as it seemed other families could. It was through those trying early years that baking became a part of our family's legacy. The same legacy I am now trying to share with others.
When our children were little we found the need to create healthy options at home because the cheap options we could afford were filled with questionable ingredients and frankly, junk. Our recipes follow high standards for quality and wholesome ingredients. Where possible we source organic ingredients which provide an additional healthy component and an added layer of confidence. I used to think the term organic didn’t really make much of a difference. I am here to tell you, I was wrong. Organic and pure ingredients definitely bring the flavor up a notch.
We are baking up a legacy that we hope our kids will share with their children. Our desire is to share it with you and your family!
